Merry Christmas

I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Joyful and Peaceful New Year.  Please take time to reflect what this time of the year really stands for, the birth of Christ.

Happy Thanksgiving

      I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and to remind you to give thanks for all that God has given to you in your life.  Most people do not realize what they truly have to be Thankful for.  Some people struggle day to day or do not have enough food to eat or have a roof over there heads.  If you have any of this be Thankful for it and pray for the ones that do not and if you are able help support your local Rescue Mission or some such charity that helps the people that truly need the help.  Yes times are tough, but even just volunteering a little of your time would be a tremendous help to these organizations.

Clouds Are Gathering

Was taken one afternoon in 2010 while on the beach.

I love this picture.  It was taken in Florida in 2010.  We had  came back to the hotel from our day excursions and we decided to go to the beach.  I was able to get this shot before the sun set.

Tall Grass Prairie Preserve Horse

This is one of the horses that were used to roundup the Bison.

These photos were also taken at the Tall Grass Prairie Preserve.  It shows one of the herds at the preserve.  I do not remember how many were there, but I do remember seeing at least 2 - 3 herds of this size in the distance.

These two photos were taken at the Tall Grass Prairie in Oklahoma.  And yes they were as close and sometimes closer than they appear.  There was one time the car was surrounded by the Bison and we were unable to move forwards or back.

Dancer at the Red Earth Festival

Not great quality, but the best out of the whole roll that was taken.  Not sure exactly when it was taken.  It would have been somewhere in the mid to late 1990's.  Have really enjoyed going to these festivals and hope to be able to start going again. 

Hope to get some more pictures up soon

Have had a lot goiing on lately and also have put in some rolls for developing and they have come back blank or have had pictures that would not go with the site.  I may try to scan some older pictures and put them on this weekend or maybe if the roll I have in for developing is good I can get some of those on there.

Marineland - Jumping Dolphin at the Circular Tank

This picture was taken I believe in the mid to late 70's.  I used to really enjoy going to Marineland and am glad that I still have a few pictures to remind me of "The Good Days".  I have talked to many people that agree that the park was much better when they had shows like the one above.  I have a few more pictures that I will post sometime in the future, after I get them scanned.

Alligator Farm

This picture was taken, I would say, sometime in the 70's.  It could be the early 80's, but I believe it was in the late 70's.  The Farm has changed alot since that time.  They do not appear to have the showsthat they did back then, but the kids and I still enjoyed it when we went last year.

Black Jaguar

This picture was taken at the OKC Zoo sometime in the early to mid 90's.  The Black Jaguars are no longer at the zoo.  They were replaced by spotted Jaguars.

I have just recently gotten a new scanner.  The previous pictures were taken in the early or so 1990's.  I hope to be able to get some more scanned in from an earlier period.  I have a few pictures of Marineland from the 70's or 80's and also some of The Alligator Farm of the same time period.  Hopefully you will enjoy these pictures when I finally get the scanned in and posted.

Enid Scholarship Pageant

This picture was taken at one of the Enid Scholarship Pageants sometime in the early to mid 1990's.  The lady of the right was someone that lived in my town and the time and I had met her on a couple of occasions and she seemed to be a very nice person.  I am not sure what became of her, but I wish her the very best on whatever she pursued.

Flamingo

Was taken at the Oklahoma City Zoo's Island Life Exhibt sometime around 2007.  I was able to get this picture of a lone flamingo which I thought was neat as I have never been able to see a lone flamingo.  Most of the time they are in groups which I will post a photo of at a later time.

Grizzly Bears

This picture was taken at the OKC Zoo's Oklahoma Trails Exhibt sometime around 2007.  These two Grizzly brothers were brought to the zoo after there mother had been killed by hunter's from what I remember.

My Front Yard during the Oklahoma snow storm

Was taken on 2/10/11, a day after the storm came through Oklahoma this week.  I am not sure why the picture is blurry, as I used the digital camera to take the picture.  Not sure how much snow we got in town, but there were some areas around that got up to 14".

A Little Difficulty

In a previous post I stated I would be scanning some older pictures and posting them.  Well I have found out my scanner is not working for some reason and I can not get it to work at all, so there will be a delay until I can do that.  I am hoping to post some pictures of Marineland from back in the 70’s to early 80’s.  I also have some pictures from different programs in Oklahoma during the early 90’s, among other things.  Hopefully I will be able to get them done within a few months time frame.

Jaguar

This picture was taken in the summer of 2010.  I love this picture, except for the fence.  The Jaguar is one of my two favorite big cats.  I have a couple more pictures similar to this one.  It was almost like he/she was posing for the picture.  Most times the Jaguar's are sleeping or just seem to ignore anyone that comes by, but I was very happy to be able to get this picture along with two other ones which I will post later.

Sumatran Tiger

This picture was taken at the OKC Zoo several years ago.  It is one of the few pictures I have been able to take of the tigers that gives you a good view of them.  Most of the times I go, they are either not out or sleeping.
